The Authors
Written by runners who know these trails
Spencer Cox
As a self-described “enjoyer of many, master of none”, Spencer loves all forms of mountain movement, music, writing, and photography. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he would get to write a trail running book with his friends, but he is so grateful for life’s serendipities. Spencer currently resides in Albuquerque, NM with his wife, Sara, and two vivacious pups, Maya & Arlo, but plans to return to the Sierra as soon as possible.
Parker Burnell
Hailing from the Biggest Little City (Reno, NV) and bringing a lifetime of mountain sport experience into trail running, Parker combines his appetite for endurance with a thoughtful approach to visual storytelling. Beyond shaping the book's photo composition and editing, he hand-carried a full-frame camera setup through nearly every run. When not on foot, Parker can usually be found on two wheels, on a slackline, on snow, or planning his next adventure.
Matt Zupan
Matt grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, but loves to tell people that Reno is the best city in the world. The only thing Matt loves more than moving through beautiful places on foot is moving through beautiful places on foot with his loyal dog, Kazak the Hound of Space. His proudest accomplishments are eating food out of the trash semi-regularly and being able to recite “The Raven” from memory.
